Hello to the friends of The Jazz Sanctuary,
Before we get to the old “news” – see below – it’s time for some NEW NEWS
I could be happier but not in regards to The Jazz Sanctuary. Our fund raising was and is a GREAT SUCCESS!
Statistics tell the tale:
Please see our Donor List page and see for yourself what a brilliant job you have done!
Are we finished? Done? No more contributions? I hope not! In the following days I expect more checks to come in with a date of April 30th and those too will be matched. NEVER SAY NEVER……..
There is simply no way of my saying thank you, except to say thank you and play music for you with the greatest group of talented musicians that make up The Jazz Sanctuary – my thanks to them too (of course).
Thank you and thank you again for all your help.
The old news is below. Read and enjoy.
We announce a new sponsor of All Events – and that is indeed a big deal Compass – Ion. They join CBIZ in our sponsoring all events. We are very fortunate indeed and we thank them and thank them again.
In addition Compass – Ion in conjunction with Alan Segal, LLC (spoiler alert – that’s me) will be matching all donations made in April. If you happen to send a donation prior to April, say this week, that too will be matched.
We are setting aside 25% of all donations of $100.00 or more and their match as part of our educational fund. Please watch the donations page for a tally on that account. Regardless of the size of the donation all donation made in April will be matched. The questions is why April? Because April is JAZZ APPRECIATION MONTH!!!!!
Something else is afoot. We are now using the nomenclature of “A JAZZ SANCTUARY BAND” for example and then announcing the names of the musicians. For instance, our friend Leon can’t make one of our events and we’re being helped by Butch Reed. Yes, it’s still the Alan Segal Quintet, but more importantly it’s a Jazz Sanctuary Band – The Alan Segal Quintet – Eddie Etkins, George Sinkler, Randy Sutin, Butch Reed and Alan Segal. We’re going to make room for more events and therefore more musicians. All of that depending on sponsorship and your donations and I have (agian) great hopes that we will be more than successful!
What’s holding us back from holding even more events? Funding, it’s really that simple. If you know of a potential sponsor, please let me know and of course your contributions are so important to us – representing 42% of our funding. I know that your contribution will be mailed to us and we can include your name in our list of donors.
Meanwhile, back at the home base The Jazz Sanctuary is receiving contributions on almost a daily basis, for sure on a weekly basis. THANK YOU AND THANK YOU AGAIN AND AGAIN.
My hope and wish is that you take advantage of the events and visit with us in 2017 which promises to be a wonderful year filled with music!
By the end of April we will have appeared at 362 events since inception.
There is no complaining about that total, is there!
That wonderful accomplishment has only been reached with the help of our sponsors, your contributions and of course you our wonderful audience!
Thanks and more thanks for all your help!

I find it incumbent of me to make a plea for a donation. We simply cannot exist if our program is not supported. Some 40% of our funding comes from you, our wonderful audience. We are making our plans for a brilliant 2017 and I make this request so that we can fund the remainder of events scheduled for 2017.
If you haven’t signed up for the once monthly email, please do!
Thank you seems inadequate nonetheless “thanks to each and every person who made a contribution thus far.
Listen to some music, celebrate life and visit with us at a Jazz & Joe event
Don’t forget to use our sponsors – without them (and you of course!) we wouldn’t be swinging along.
I look forward to hearing from you (firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com).
