Chris Aschman is one of Philadelphia’s active freelance musicians. Fluent on both trumpet and steelpan, he brings a special versatility to the many ensembles he performs with. A Baltimore native who originally came to Philadelphia to study jazz trumpet at UARTS, he has since performed with artists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Stanley Clarke, Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Chaka Khan, Kool and the Gang, and Andy Narell. He has appeared at venues ranging from Kimmel Center’s Verizon Hall, The National Cathedral in DC, and the Queens Park Savannah in Port of Spain Trinidad. He currently leads two projects, the ChrisAschman Electric Quartet and Trinidelphia.
