Lew Leabman is one of the busiest drummers in the New York and Philadelphia areas. He plays with club date bands, big bands, Dixieland bands, and rock and funk bands throughout the region. He has traveled all over the world and played with a variety of musicians and entertainers, including Bobby Caldwell, Natalie Cole, Maureen McGovern, Dan Aykroyd, Jerry Vale, Bob Hope, Charlie Spivak, the Broadway show 42nd Street, and many more. For 14 years he worked with the Bob Hardwick Sound Society Orchestra in New York City, during which time he played for former Vice President Gore’s daughter’s wedding rehearsal dinner, former President Gerald Ford’s 85th birthday party in Aspen, Colorado, and a Martha’s Vineyard wedding with Paul McCartney and his family, to name a few. Presently, Lew has his own trio, and is also working with the Dave Stahl Big Band.
